“Krypton,” “Old” and “The Underground Railroad” actor Aaron Pierre is set to co-star alongside Mahershala Ali in the new “Blade” movie for Marvel Studios.
British thesp Pierre’s role is unknown at this time, but he’ll star alongside Ali as Blade, the vampire hunter and ‘daywalker’ famously played by Wesley Snipes across a trilogy of films in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
Delroy Lindo is also onboard with Bassam Tariq (“Mogul Mowgli”) is set to direct the feature from a script by Stacy Osei-Kuffour. At present, it’s not clear how different this will be tonally or stylistically from the original R-rated films. Ali did cameo with his voice only in the recent “Eternals” film.
