Apple TV+ has just released a couple of trailers for their upcoming series including “The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey” which premieres March 11th, and “Shining Girls” which launches on April 29th.
Based on the novel by Walter Mosley, ‘Ptolemy Grey’ stars Samuel L. Jackson as the eponymous elderly man who has been forgotten by everyone, even himself. Spiralling into his dementia, he is put into the care of Robyn (Dominique Fishback), a teenage orphan.
Together, the unlikely pair uncovers a potential treatment that will temporarily alleviate Ptolemy’s memory loss. In doing so he begins to uncover shocking truths about his own past, present, and future – even as the treatment accelerates his mind’s unravelling.
Cynthia Kaye McWilliams, Damon Gupton, Marsha Stephanie Blake, Omar Miller, and Walton Goggins co-star.
“Shining Girls,” based on Lauren Beuke’s bestselling novel, sees Elisabeth Moss playing a Chicago newspaper archivist who teams up with a seasoned yet troubled news reporter to track down a killer with links to a life-shattering assault in her past.
As they realize these cold cases are inextricably linked, their own personal traumas and Kirby’s blurred reality allow her assailant to remain one step ahead. Wagner Moura, Phillipa Soo, Amy Brenneman, and Jamie Bell co-star.
Moss stars, co-directs, and executive produces with Lindsay McManus. Michelle MacLaren and Daina Reed also direct episodes while Leonardo DiCaprio, Michael Hampton, and Jennifer Davisson executive produce.
“Shining Girls” premieres with three episodes, with new episodes every Friday through the eight-episode series.
