The CW has handed out orders for three pilots – a DC series titled “Gotham Knights” and two prequels to their hits “Supernatural” and “Walker”.
“Gotham Knights” begins in the wake of Bruce Wayne’s murder as his rebellious adopted son forges an unlikely alliance with the children of Batman’s enemies when they are all framed for killing the Caped Crusader. The series will be standalone with no link to the CW’s Arrow-verse.
The “Supernatural” prequel “The Winchesters” centers on Dean and Sam Winchester’s parents – John and Mary – and tells the epic love story of how they met and how they put it all on the line to save the entire world.
“Walker: Independence” is taking the “1883” route and will tell the story of the Texas Ranger’s family’s trip out West in the late 1800s as the husband in a wealthy Bostonian couple is murdered and the widow seeks retribution.
The network also handed out an additional six script order to the female-fronted “Zorro” series project.
