Crystal Dynamics, the game developer behind the two “Tomb Raider” reboot trilogies from 2006 and 2013, is joining forces with The Initiative on the latter’s previously announced revival of the “Perfect Dark” franchise.
Both groups, the Xbox Game Studio-owned Initiative and the Square Enix-owned Crystal Dynamics, will co-develop the new entry in the first-person spy thriller gaming series.
In statements about the partnership, they make it clear the project is still early in development and is thus likely years away. The project was first announced last year at the 2020 Game Awards.
