Lots Of New Footage In Dune Global Trailer
Warner Bros. Pictures

A new Chinese trailer has been released for Warner Bros. Pictures’ “Dune” and this one boasts a ton of new footage, most of the clip in fact, with a more basic breakdown of the story’s beats.

Several scenes for fans of the books and earlier adaptations are shown here along with what is a greater focus on action and scale. “Dune” marks one of the few Hollywood blockbusters set to get a Chinese theatrical release this year.

The first of two proposed films based on the first book, the story is set in the distant future and follows Paul Atreides (Timothee Chalamet) whose noble family accepts control of the desert planet Arrakis.

As the only planet capable of producing the highly valuable resource known as the spice melange which allows for space travel, control of Arrakis is highly contested amongst the noble families.

When the Atreides are betrayed, the story explores themes of politics, religion, and man’s relationship to nature as a betrayed Paul leads a rebellion to restore his family’s control of Arrakis.

Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Javier Bardem, Jason Momoa, Stellan Skarsgard, Charlotte Rampling, Dave Bautista, Zendaya, David Dastmalchian, Chang Chen, Sharon Duncan-Brewster and Stephen McKinley Henderson also star.

The film has already started rolling out internationally in select markets and will hit the U.S. and China on October 22nd theatrically (and day-and-date on HBO Max in the U.S.) while Australia recently moved it to a December 2nd release.
