Ryan Murphy’s “American Story” franchise is set to expand. Presently it consists of the flagship “American Horror Story” (now in its tenth season), the soon to launch third season of “American Crime Story,” and the first season of the recently finished “American Horror Stories”.

Now it’s going bigger. FX and 20th Television have reportedly closed a deal for “American Sports Story” and “American Love Story” spin-off limited series. Both will offer the season-long anthology approach as opposed to episodic-like “American Horror Stories”.

‘Sports’ focuses on a prominent event involving a sports figure and “re-examines it through the prism of today’s world, telling that story from multiple perspectives.” Stu Zicherman (“The Americans”) is writing the first season based on the podcast “Gladiator” which follows the rise and fall of NFL legend Aaron Hernandez.

‘Love Story’ involves true love stories that captured the world’s attention with the first dealing with the marriage of John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette.

Its also been confirmed the fourth season of “American Crime Story” will deal with Studio 54 and its co-founder Steve Rubell. FX has also renewed “American Horror Stories” for a second season, and its comedy “What We Do In The Shadows” for a fourth.
