Two series regulars on “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” are getting swapped out – with alternate versions of themselves.
Matt Ryan, who has played John Constantine on the series since the show’s third season, will wrap up Constantine’s arc at the end of the current sixth season – the character likely being phased out to make way for Bad Robot’s HBO Max version.
However, executive producer/co-showrunner Phil Klemmer revealed during Sunday’s Comic-Con@Home panel that Ryan isn’t going anywhere and will be back as a series regular next season which began filming two weeks ago.
The actor will take on a new character in the form of Dr. Gwyn Davies – an eccentric scientist from the early 20th century who might be the team’s only hope next season.
That’s not all though. Actress Amy Louise Pemberton has voiced the ship’s A.I. Gideon for all six seasons and has appeared in physical form a few times. That latter change will now be made permanent as Pemberton will appear as a series regular next season portraying a flesh-and-blood version of Gideon.
The sixth season has aired ten episodes so far and is currently on a two-week break. Five more episodes remain with those kicking off on August 8th and running through to early September with a freshly launched trailer teasing those episodes below.
There won’t be much of a wait between seasons either as the seventh season begins October 13th.
