Laurence Fishburne has confirmed that he’s reprising his role as The Bowery King for the fourth “John Wick” feature and will shoot his scenes in Berlin in coming months.

Keanu Reeves, Bill Skarsgard, Shamier Anderson, Donnie Yen, and newcomer Rina Sawayama also star in the film which will also shoot in Paris, Japan and New York City.

Fishburne also spoke about the script with Collider. The new film sees Michael Finch replacing series creator Derek Kolstad on screenplay duties, and the change has resulted in a slightly different approach:

“I read the script. It’s really, really cool. As much as it’s the same world as the other three films, it’s just deeper. It’s much deeper in terms of the code of the assassin and the relationship that he has with one character in particular who I think Mr. Watanabe is playing… is really the heart and soul of it.”

According to the outlet, Watanabe is the name of a key character in the sequel. “John Wick: Chapter 4” is currently scheduled for a May 27th 2022 release.
