Disney and Pixar have released the first trailer for “Monsters at Work,” the upcoming sequel series to 2001’s animated classic film “Monsters, Inc.”.
John Goodman and Billy Crystal reprise their respective roles of Sulley and Mike in the new series which picks up at the end of the original film. The pair are now in charge of the power plant which has changed over to harvesting the laughter of children to fuel the city of Monstropolis rather than harvesting their screams.
The new series switches the focus to the new character of Tylor Tuskmon (Ben Feldman), an eager young monster who graduated top of his class at Monsters University and dreamed of becoming a Scarer.
However on the first day of the job he discovers that scaring is out and laughter is in. He finds himself temporarily reassigned to the Monsters, Inc. Facilities Team (MIFT) where he must work alongside a misfit bunch of mechanics while setting his sights on becoming a Jokester.
Mindy Kaling, Aisha Tyler, Henry Winkler, Lucas Neff, Alanna Ubach, John Ratzenberger, Stephen Stanton, Jennifer Tilly and Bob Peterson also lend their voices.
“Monsters at Work” will make its debut on Wednesday, July 2nd exclusively on the Disney+ service.
