Focus Features has released the debut trailer for the Matt Damon-led drama “Stillwater” which hits cinemas on July 30th.
Damon plays an American oil-rig roughneck from Oklahoma who travels to Marseille, FRance to visit his estranged daughter (Abigail Breslin) – a woman in prison for a murder she claims she did not commit.
Confronted with language barriers, cultural differences, and a complicated legal system, he builds a new life for himself as he makes it his personal mission to exonerate his daughter.
“Spotlight” helmer Tom McCarthy directs the film which also stars Camille Cottin and Deanna Dunagan. McCarthy, Marcus Hinchey, Thomas Bidegain and Noe Debre penned the script.
