Zack Snyder has hinted, via an exchange with a fan on his Vero account, that his recut of “Justice League” could arrive as early as March.
Asked about Joss Whedon’s theatrical cut by a fan named Thiago Kesseli, Snyder said he should: “destroy every copy, please… [but] I understand and of course respect your feelings and I just hope I can wipe that version out of existence with what you see in March.”
The date would somewhat make sense as March 25th 2021 will mark the five-year anniversary of “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” which serves as an immediate precursor to this. In addition, most of Snyder’s films to date have also premiered in March.
The talk comes as “Wonder Woman” actress Gal Gadot has leant her support to her co-star Ray Fisher over his vocal complaints about his and others treatment by Joss Whedon, Geoff Johns, and Jon Berg during the reshoots on ‘League’.
Talking to The L.A. Times recently she discussed the “very thorough” investigation that was conducted and which recently concluded with the verdict that remedial action has been taken. She also offered her take:
“I’m happy for Ray to go out and speak his truth. I wasn’t there with the guys when they shot with Joss Whedon – I had my own experience with [him], which wasn’t the best one, but I took care of it there and when it happened I took it to the higher-ups and they took care of it. But I’m happy for Ray to go up and say his truth.”
“Zack Snyder’s Justice League” will release on HBO Max in four one-hour parts ahead of being released as one four-hour film. The movie will reportedly cost around $70 million in order to properly finish the editing and visual effects
