“The Boys” S3 Targets Early 2021 Shoot

“The Boys” showrunner Eric Kripke has confirmed that filming on the third season of Amazon’s dark superhero skewering series will commence in early 2021. In addition, he confirms Craig Rosenberg penned the third season premiere episode which will be titled “Payback”.

Speaking with EW, he discussed the arrival of Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy next season. He confirms the character will NOT follow the comics and have him hooking up with Homelander in order to be considered for the Seven.

However the character’s addition will allow the showrunner to explore the back history of this universe, including the original superhero team (Soldier Boy, Stormfront, Eagle Archer, Tek Knight and Crimson Countess) that pre-dates the Seven:

“One of the reasons that we’re getting into Soldier Boy [in Season 3] and that team, Payback, is we’re interested in exploring a little bit of how we got here. Through the history of the supes, we can tell a little bit about the history of America and how we ended up in the current fraught position that we’re in. Soldier Boy gives us an opportunity to do that.”

Both seasons of “The Boys” are available to stream in full on Amazon Prime.
