Amazon has announced plans for a young adult horror TV series adaptation of 1997 slasher thriller “I Know What You Did Last Summer”.
The show will share the premise of both the movie and the 1973 Lois Duncan novel upon which it is based, namely it follows a group of teenagers is stalked by a killer a year after a fatal accident on their graduation night. This version will put a contemporary spin on the material.
Sara Goodman (“Preacher,” “Gossip Girl”) is writing and executive producing the show which will be produced by Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures TV.
Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe and Freddie Prinze Jr. starred in the hit original which grossed $125 million worldwide. See that film’s memorable trailer below.
