More cast members from “The Guard,” “Calvary” and “War on Everyone ” director John Michael McDonagh’s new feature “The Forgiven” at Focus Features and Brookstreet Pictures have been revealed.
We already knew that the project, based on the novel by Lawrence Osborne, would star the likes of Ralph Fiennes, Jessica Chastain, Said Taghmaoui and Caleb Landry Jones.
Those four have now been joined by Matt Smith (“Doctor Who”), Abbey Lee (“Mad Max: Fury Road”), Christopher Abbott (“The Sinner”), Marie-Josee Croze (“Munich”), Alex Jennings (“The Crown”) and Ismael Kanater (“Queen Of The Desert”).
The story explores the reverberations of a random accident on the lives of an Anglo-American couple, their friends and the local Moroccans, who all converge on a luxurious desert villa during a decadent weekend-long party.
The film was shooting on location in Morocco before being suspended near its end due to the global pandemic. They restarted back in Morocco last month after a six month pause and have now completed production.
