“Cobra Kai” Gets A Beat-Em-Up Game

A trailer has arrived for “Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues,” no not the highly anticipated third season of the YouTube Premium turned Netflix series.

Rather the clip is for GameMill Entertainment’s video game adaptation of the “Karate Kid” sequel series, this one a side-scrolling beat-em-up in the vein of classic arcade titles.

Boasting both single and co-op modes, you can swap between any of eight characters as you play including Johnny Lawrence, Daniel LaRusso, Robby, Miguel, Hawk and more as the action unfolds across 28 story missions, with boss fights included.

Original actors Ralph Macchio and William Zabka lend their voices to the game which will have a skill tree to upgrade, and the ability to build out rival dojos – Daniel’s Miyagi-Do or Johnny’s Cobra Kai – as a key element of the story progression.

Players will have to complete both dojos’ story arcs to see the game’s true conclusion. The game will be available for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One from October 27th.
