Paramount Pictures has ditched theatrical release plans for post-apocalyptic adventure “Love and Monsters,” previously titled “Monster Problems,” and will instead give it a premium VOD release.
“The Maze Runner” star Dylan O’Brien leads this “John Hughes meets Mad Max” coming-of-age story that will center around a road trip with a young man living in a world overrun by monsters. Michael Rooker, Jessica Henwick, Dan Ewing, Arianna Greenblatt and Joel Dawson co-star.
The Michael Matthews penned and helmed film was originally slated for an Easter release this year then delayed nearly a full year to February 2021. Instead, it will now hit VOD and digital platforms for a 48-hour rental period at $20. Some platforms will offer an early digital purchase for $25.
