Another behind-the-scenes photo from James Cameron’s “Avatar” sequels have arrived, this one showing off some of the underwater motion-capture as actor Britain Dalton and another actor do some aqua aerobics in a pool.
Production on the films resumed in New Zealand the other week. Kate Winslet, Edie Falco, Jemaine Clement, David Thewlis and Michelle Yeoh join a cast that includes Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel David Moore and CCH Pounder with the first of the sequels arriving December 17th 2021. Rifkin’s Festival
Woody Allen’s new film “Rifkin’s Festival” has been announced as the opening night film of the San Sebastian Film Festival in September. Elena Anaya, Louis Garrel, Gina Gershon, Sergi Lopez, Wallace Shawn, and Christoph Waltz star in the film which will play out of competition.
The story follows a married American couple visiting the festival and finding themselves involved with other people. The wife becomes enamored with a French filmmaker while the husband is smitten with a Spanish local. [Source: Variety]
Shriver
Michael Shannon, Kate Hudson, Don Johnson and Da’Vine Joy Randolph are set to star in Michael Maren’s comedy “Shriver” based on the novel by Chris Belden. Jimmi Simpson, Zach Braff, Mark Boone, Jr., and Aja Naomi King co-star.
The story follows a small college, desperate to make a splash in the literary world, who thinks they have found Shriver – a famed writer who has been in hiding for two decades. Unfortunately, the person they have located is a different Shriver – a down-on-his-luck handyman who has never read a book in his life and an awkward grip on reality. [Source: Deadline]
Enola Holmes
Netflix has released the first batch of photos from “Enola Holmes,” the upcoming film based on Nancy Springer’s book series about Sherlock Holmes and Mycroft Holmes’ rebellious teen sister Enola. Millie Bobby Brown, Henry Cavill, and Sam Claflin star in the film helmed by Emmy-winner Harry Bradbeer (“Fleabag”)
Helena Bonham Carter, Fiona Shaw, Frances de la Tour, Burn Gorman, Adeel Akhtar and more star in the film in which Enola tries to solve the mystery of her missing mother and becomes caught in the middle of a conspiracy that could alter the course of political history. The project will debut on the service in September.
Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes have a younger sister — and this September, she’s taking her first case.
