Scholastic is partnering with Erik Feig’s Picturestart for a feature film based on K.A. Applegate’s massively popular 1990s sci-fi kids book series “Animorphs”.
The story follows five teens – Jake, Marco, Cassie, Rachel, and Tobias – who have the ability to morph into any animal they touch. They use their powers to fight a secret alien invasion of Earth.
More than 35 million copies of the books are in print, with the original run occurring from 1996 to 2001. This marks the first feature film based on the series. Scholastic also has plans to launch a graphic novel adaptation on October 6th.
