The New “Suspiria” Made Tarantino Cry

One of the film’s stars, Chloe Grace Moretz, has sung its praises and now it seems Luca Guadagnino’s remake of the famed Dario Argento horror classic “Suspiria” has another big fan – Quentin Tarantino.

Guadagnino, coming off the big success of “Call Me By Your Name,” gave a recent interview to Italian outlet La Repubblica (via Screen Crush) and revealed he had shown Tarantino the new take on supernatural classic. The “Pulp Fiction” filmmaker’s reaction may not be what you expect:

“We’ve been friends since our jury duty at the Venice Film Festival. I was nervous but eager to hear his advice. We saw it at his place and his reaction warmed me. He was enthusiastic about it, in the end he was crying and hugged me.

Because it’s a horror movie but also a melodrama, my goal was to make you look at the horror without being able to take [your eyes off the screen] because you’re captivated by the characters. Amazon is very happy.”

Dakota Johnson, Tilda Swinton and Mia Goth also star in the new “Suspiria” which opens November 2nd via Amazon Studios.
