Business Insider reporter Jason Guerrasio is attending the Toronto Film Festival this week and managed to get a brief update from filmmaker David Gordon Green on the new “Halloween” film which he’s slated to helm.
Green was hired to direct earlier this year, with frequent collaborator Danny McBride co-writing the script with him. The director confirms to Guerrasio that the script is all done and the plan is to shoot the project this Fall with an October 2018 release targeted.
Additionally, he says original “Halloween” director John Carpenter had given his notes on the script and “digs it”. He adds that Carpenter hopes to score the movie.
Blumhouse will produce the project which Carpenter will be heavily involved in. Specifics of the story aren’t clear beyond McBride insisting this isn’t a reboot – rather one that just ignores the latter sequel mythology.
