Starz has decided to dump Alejandro G. Inarritu’s new TV series “The One Percent” after giving it a straight-to-series order to back in 2014.
Hilary Swank and Greg Kinnear will play a family trying to keep their declining organic farming business afloat until something strange intervenes and could either make or break them. Ed Harris may potentially join them as the family patriarch.
Inarritu will direct the first two episodes with the hope to begin shooting in the next few months if MRC can find another network to pick up the ten episode run. The catch is the series, like Inarritu’s recent films, is to be shot in sequence – almost unheard of in television.
Armando Bo, Nicolas Giacobone, and Alexander Dinelaris, who co-wrote “Birdman,” are also involved.
