Disney and Lucasfilm are reportedly lining up a January 2019 production start date for an Obi-Wan Kenobi ‘A Star Wars Story’ spin-off feature.
Omega Underground reported the date, saying the project is looking likely to be shot at Pinewood Studios UK and could be under the working title ‘Joshua Tree’.
At last report, Stephen Daldry is being lined up to direct and Ewan McGregor has already expressed a desire to return to the role though nothing is official on either front. Should the reported date be accurate, it would suggest the Obi-Wan film would open in May or December 2020.
The report follows the first wave of reactions to “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” following its world premiere and, unsurprisingly, reactions have been gushing just like they were for the previous two films after their premieres. Full reviews are not online yet.
