Netflix has picked up the rights to the seven part India-set series “Delhi Crime” which has been directed by Richie Mehta (“India In A Day,” “Siddarth”).
A fact-based police procedural launched at Sundance this week, the series follows the notorious December 2012 investigation by the Delhi Police into the devastating rape of a young woman that reverberated across India and the world.
Mehta conceived the show during a conversation with Neeraj Kumar, former Commissioner of the Delhi Police, who introduced him to the investigating team and offered access to hundreds of pages of legal documents.
Shefali Shah, Adil Hussain, Denzil Smith, Rasika Dugal and Rajesh Tailang co-star. Golden Karavan and Ivanhoe Pictures produced the show which will air on Netflix from March 22nd.
