Jason Clarke is in talks to join the growing cast of Damien Chazelle’s Neil Armstrong biopic “First Man” alongside Ryan Gosling, Corey Stoll and Kyle Chandler.
Based on the book by James R. Hansen, Josh Singer (“Spotlight”) has penned this visceral, first-person account of NASA’s mission to land a man on the moon, focusing on the years 1961-1969 and the lead-up to the Apollo 11 mission.
Clarke will play Ed White, the first American to walk in space, who later died in an Apollo mission testing accident. He joins Gosling as Armstrong, Stoll as Buzz Aldrin and Chandler as test pilot Deke Slayton. Filming begins this Fall.
