Eva Green and Gemma Arterton have signed on for the lesbian romance tale “Vita & Virginia” which is Chanya Button’s second feature after “Burn Burn Burn”.
Green will star as English novelist Virginia Woolf and Arterton plays socialite Vita Sackville-West in the 1920s-set film which centers on the passionate love affair between the playful author and the flamboyant socialite.
The relationship ultimately inspired Woolf to write her iconic novel “Orlando”. Button co-writes the film with Eileen Atkins on whose stage play the film is based with the tone described as “witty and evocative”.
Evangelo Kioussis and Katie Holly will produce.
