“Den of Thieves” Is Getting A Sequel

It was critically lambasted and has only made $57 million worldwide to date, but the makers of the recent crime thriller “Den of Thieves” are proceeding with a sequel.

Director Christian Gudegast is returning to helm and will also pen the script for “Den of Thieves 2” which will see stars Gerard Butler and O’Shea Jackson Jr. also coming back.

The first film follows Butler’s ‘Big Nick’ who leads a team from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department on the hunt for a group of sophisticated bank robbers.

The sequel picks up with Big Nick tracking down bad guys on the streets of Europe and getting closer to capturing Donnie (Jackson) who has become caught up in the dangerous world of diamond thieves and the Panther mafia. This time the heist involves the world’s largest diamond exchange.

Butler, Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson, Alan Siegel, Mark Canton and Tucker Tooley will produce.
