Brief “Black Widow,” “Captain Marvel” Updates

Late last year the online world went wild with talk of a potential Marvel all-female team-up project going into development.

Now, some of the original actresses whose comments started and fueled the rumors now pulling back on the talk. During “Avengers: Infinity War” promotions last week, actresses Tessa Thompson, Elizabeth Olsen and Karen Gillan downplayed the talk, telling multiple outlets it was an offhand comment the media just went with and there’s no real serious movement on it.

One female-centered MCU project that is certain to be announced in the near future though is the long overdue “Black Widow” film with the likes of filmmakers Deniz Gamze Erguven (“Mustang”), Chloe Zhao (“The Rider”), and Amma Asante (“A United Kingdom”) having reportedly met with Marvel Studios about the film which would explore the past of Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff says THR.

One that’s currently filming right now is the “Captain Marvel” photos and new photos have gone up showing not just Brie Larson running around in her superhero suit on some U.S> city streets, but also offer us a glimpse of Samuel L. Jackson as the 1990s version of Nick Fury – one with hair and two eyes.

It’s expected both Jackson and co-star Clark Gregg will get a touch of digital de-aging on screen to look twenty years younger. Gregg pretty much confirmed as such to ComicBook the other day, saying: “There is no gym that can get me back to the 90s, and they said: ‘Well, don’t worry. We’ve been working on that technology, and we think we can goose you back a few years.'”

That film is slated for a March 2019 release.
