Rosenbaum’s Lex Luthor Not In CW’s “Crisis”

While “Smallville” co-stars Tom Welling and Erica Durance will return as Superman and Lois Lane respectively for The CW’s “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover event, one person who won’t be joining them is former co-star Michael Rosenbaum.

Rosenbaum played Lex Luthor on the series and frequently scored the best acting notices of the cast for his work in the role. Rosenbaum left the part at the end of the seventh season though did return briefly for an appearance in the series finale.

Fans have obviously wondered and now Rosenbaum has taken to Twitter to reveal he was asked but has passed on the opportunity:

“Friends, many of you have tweeted and asked me about joining the Infinite Crossover (sic). I can’t tell you how much this means to me. I’ll just be straight up about this. WB called my agents Friday afternoon when I was in Florida visiting my grandfather in a nursing home. Their offer: No Script. No idea what I’m doing. No idea when I’m shooting. Basically no money. And the real kick in the ass ‘We have to know now.’ My simple answer was ‘Pass’. I think you can understand why. I hope this answers all of your questions.”

“The Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover will begin with “Supergirl” on Sunday, December 8th followed by “Batwoman” on Monday, December 9th, “The Flash” on Tuesday, December 10th, and closing out with “Arrow” and “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” both on Tuesday January 14th.
