Filmmaker Josh Boone has revealed that the new trailer for the “X-Men” spin-off “The New Mutants,” the true final pre-Disney/MCU era “X-Men” film, will arrive next week – specifically Monday, January 6th.
The reveal comes a week after a report indicated Disney is committed to releasing the film theatrically in April – two years after its original release date and nearly three years after it was shot.
Anya Taylor-Joy, Maisie Williams, Charlie Heaton, Blu Hunt, Henry Zaga and Alice Braga co-star in the film about a group of teenage mutants incarcerated in a medical facility that’s very much up to no good. The film had a troubled post-production phase and was shelved for a time due to the Disney-Fox merger.
The new trailer comes just over two years after the first trailer for the film arrived back in October 2017 (and is included below), a clip mostly remembered for its use of Pink Floyd’s “The Wall” and dark tone. How much of that footage will survive in the theatrical cut is unclear at present.
