Production has officially gotten underway on the fourth “The Matrix” film in San Francisco, and the first videos and set photos from the Lana Wachowski-directed feature have gone online following the first day of shooting on Wednesday.
The footage shows Keanu Reeves’ return as Neo, this time Reeves’ is keeping his John Wick longer hair rather than a short back and sides cut which he sported during the original trilogy.
Wachowski and actress Carrie-Anne Moss were also spotted on the set which used the city’s Chinatown district for filming, specifically around Columbus Avenue and Kearny Street and at one point shooting took place near the popular House of Nanking restaurant.
Wachowski co-wrote the script with Aleksander Hemon and David Mitchell. John Toll serves as cinematographer and the film opens May 21st next year.
