Fans of the “Fast and Furious” franchise certainly aren’t showing any signs of tiring of the series yet.
Tickets for the new “F9: The Fast Saga” film went on sale Friday following the live concert event heralding the arrival of the film’s first trailer.
Now it has been revealed that across its first four days, the film outpaced ticket sales of the previous entry – “The Fate of the Furious” – by 50% across the same time period. Ticket sales are also four times that of last year’s spin-off “Hobbs & Shaw” at the same point in its pre-sale period.
The numbers are considered especially impressive as the film doesn’t arrive until late May, meaning we’re more than three months out.
“The Fate of the Furious” was the second-highest grosser in the franchise with a haul of $1.2 billion, behind only the seventh film with $1.5 billion.
