Scott Derrickson is reportedly stepping down as director of “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” at Marvel Studios.
The studio has issued a statement, confirming his departure is due to ‘creative differences’ with Derrickson remaining onboard as an executive producer.
The statement reads: “Marvel Studios and Scott Derrickson have amicably parted ways on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness due to creative differences. We remain grateful to Scott for his contributions to the MCU.”
Filming is still slated to kick off in May and there are not expected to be any delays with a replacement currently being sought. The movie is still on track for a May 7th 2021 release.
Derrickson helmed the first film, along with movies such as “Sinister,” “The Exorcism of Emily Rose,” “Deliver Us from Evil” and “The Day the Earth Stood Still” remake.
