David Duchovny Joins The Craft Remake

“X-Files” and “Californication” actor David Duchovny has joined the upcoming remake of “The Craft” for Blumhouse, Red Wagon Entertainment and Sony Pictures.

Robin Tunney, Fairuza Balk, Neve Campbell, Christine Taylor, Rachel True, and Skeet Ulrich starred in the original about a newcomer at a Catholic prep high school who falls in with a trio of outcast teenage girls who practice witchcraft, and wage curses against those who tick them off.

The original 1996 feature lead to a wave of young female empowerment meets witch-themed other works. The new take will star Cailee Spaeny, Gideon Adlon, Lovie Simone, Zoey Luna and Nicholas Galitzin.

Zoe Lister-Jones is writing, directing, and executive producing the new version while Jason Blum, Douglas Wick and Lucy Fisher are producing. Andrew Fleming, who directed and co-wrote the original film, is executive producing.
