While Robert Pattinson has been set to play Bruce Wayne/Batman in Matt Reeves’ “The Batman” feature, none of the other roles in the project have locked in actors for them.
That may be about to change as according to a new report from Batman on Film, Reeves is eyeing Andy Serkis for an undisclosed role in the DC Comics adaptation.
Serkis worked with Reeves on both “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” and “War for the Planet of the Apes” along with numerous other blockbusters. Serkis has previously said he would be interested in reuniting with Reeves on the film.
Which role he could play is not clear, though reports have both The Penguin and The Mad Hatter in play in the new film – either of which he would make a strong candidate.
Filming is expected to begin around either year’s end or very early 2020 to meet the film’s planned June 2021 release.
