The next installment in the “Saw” franchise, a semi-reimagining of the property, is reportedly gearing up to film next week according to director Darren Lynn Bousman.
“Jigsaw” writers Pete Goldfinger and Josh Stolberg penned the script for the new project which hails in part from comedian Chris Rock who came up with an idea to spin-off and expand the horror franchise’s world. Rock not only gets a story credit but also stars.
Speaking on Twitter, Bousman says: “Start shooting the new Saw film in just a few days. Something I never thought I would be typing again! Gotta be honest. No one is ready for the insanity about to bleed out on screen!”
Bousman directed the second through fourth films in the series. The new film will be released on October 23rd 2020.
