Mexican actor and singer Diego Gonzalez Boneta is in talks to join the film adaptation of Broadway musical “Rock of Ages” for New Line reports The Wrap.
20-year-old Boneta (“Pretty Little Liars,” “90210,” “Mean Girls 2”) would play the lead role of Drew Boley, a singer-guitarist described as “the nicest aspiring rocker you’ll find in the Bourbon Room.” However, no official offer has been made at this time.
Boneta joins a cast that includes Tom Cruise, Julianne Hough, Mary J. Blige and Alec Baldwin. Adam Shankman directs the film which will kick off production shortly with the aim of a release next June.
