Paradise
Dan Fogelman has confirmed that filming on the third and final season of Hulu’s Sterling K. Brown-led sci-fi thriller series “Paradise” has officially wrapped. The third season will deal with the results of the second season finale as Xavier continues his search for answers about Alex.
Meanwhile, those in the bunker now must survive their new world. A new bunker beneath Denver Airport is expected to play an important role in events. The new season is expected to air sometime next year. [Source: Instagram]
South Park
The premiere of the 29th and newest season of “South Park,” dubbed “South America,” reportedly hit 4.2 million viewers in three days – on par with the previous season’s 4.3 million viewers in three days.
It also notably improved in the core demographic of 18-49 – jumping from a 0.73 to a 0.97. Between Monday and Friday, the “South America” premiere was the most-watched cable telecast of the week among adults 18-49, excluding sports programming. [Source: Variety]
Laird
Two-time Emmy nominee Peter Sarsgaard will star alongside Kenneth Branagh in the Paramount+ Scottish Highland drama “Laird,” which hails from “MobLand” and “The Agency” creator Jez Butterworth. Joe Wright is attached to direct the pilot.
The epic family saga follows the Laird of Castle Drummoch (Branagh), a proud Scot who defies shadowy American billionaire and self-made tech titan Peter Bergstrom (Sarsgaard) – a man hell-bent on buying up the glens. Treasure Island
MGM+ has premiered the trailer for the six-episode limited series “Treasure Island” based on the Robert Louis Stevenson novel. Daniel Oyelowo plays the villainous and charismatic pirate Long John Silver alongside newcomer Tom Sweet as young teenage hero Jim Hawkins, Hayley Atwell as Jim’s mother Bess, Jack Huston as Aaron Graham and Tomer Capone as Billy Bones.
The “high-stakes reinvention” is set in 1788 across a storm-battered Cornwall. Jim and Bess come into possession of an old treasure map and search for the location of the treasure, as a British revolutionary spy and an experienced pirate do likewise. The series, with no connection to the upcoming Ridley Scott film about to begin production, premieres on October 11th.
