Video Game Remakes
A new study by Ampere Analysis has found that consumers spend more than 2.2 times as much on video game remakes over video game remasters. The study was conducted across both kinds of titles over the past two years.

Remakes require substantially higher investment in development, marketing, and time but are also decidedly more income generating. Remasters offer faster turnaround and lower cost, but deliver less engagement – one exception being “The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered” which reached a peak of $180 million in consumer spending.
