Reedus On A Potential Daryl Dixon Return

AMC

“The Walking Dead” franchise veteran Norman Reedus says that despite his “Daryl Dixon” series ending with a fourth season, it may not be the last we see of the character.

The series, which recently premiered its third season, was renewed for a fourth and final season back in July, with that run to air in 2026. Fellow spin-off “Dead City” was also renewed for a third season to air next year, with both shows currently filming those runs.

In a recent interview to promote the new season, Reedus was asked by Comic Book Resources if his character could stick around after the fourth season. He says:

“I don’t know. That’s not a decision I make. It was kind of told to us. We kind of perpetuated that it was always the plan, but that really wasn’t the plan. It was kind of the plan in the end. It might just be this version of this. I don’t know what’s happening. I don’t know where we’re going. I’m happy with what we’ve done and where we’re at, but who knows. I have no idea. I didn’t know the main show was going to go past Season 2”

Both the third and fourth seasons shift from the French setting of the first two seasons to a Spanish setting, with filming taking place in Madrid. Reedus and Melissa McBride return for both seasons and are joined in the third by the likes of Eduardo Noriega, Óscar Jaenada, Alexandra Masangkay and Stephen Merchant.

Another series entitled “More Tales from the Walking Dead Universe” is in development but there have been few updates on that.
