The upcoming “The Flash” film sees two versions of Batman/Bruce Wayne on screen – one being Ben Affleck reprising the role he played over several films in the DCEU in what will likely be his last time in the part.
The other is of course Michael Keaton returning to the role he starred in both in 1989’s “Batman” and 1992’s “Batman Returns”. In an interview with Jake’s Takes recently, Keaton was asked about putting on the cape and cowl again for the first time in thirty years.
For Keaton, he says the sensation was surprisingly not out of the ordinary:
“It was shockingly normal. It was weird. I was like, ‘Oh, oh yeah, that’s right.’ But then you also start to play the scenes and it’s a lot of memories. A lot of memories. A lot of interesting things like sense memories actually.”
Further pressed as to whether he has said the iconic “I am Batman” line, Keaton joked that he was experiencing technical difficulties and did not hear the question.
“The Flash” has been shooting in the UK for a while now and is expected to involve a multiverse story that will have an impact on the DCEU going forward. Ezra Miller reprises his role of the big screen’s Scarlet Speeder in the movie which opens in cinemas on November 4th 2022.
