A Netflix representative has strongly denied a recent report in the British tabloid The Sun regarding its celebrated royal family drama “The Crown”.

The paper’s report alleges the production is struggling to cast an actor to play Prince Andrew in the final two seasons – and Left Bank Pictures have had to advertise for the role on casting website Spotlight.

Their source says: “Stars aren’t exactly queuing up to play him” as the controversy still swirls over Andrew’s links to the late convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

A spokeswoman for the series however tells THR: “There is absolutely no struggle to cast any role for season 5 of The Crown and it is normal practice for productions to advertise in Spotlight.”

The new season kicks off production in June with Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth II, Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip, Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret, Dominic West as Prince Charles and Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana. Tom Byrne played Andrew in last year’s fourth season.
