HBO Max is reportedly in the midst of working out deals for a short revival of iconic HBO New York-set dramedy series “Sex and the City” reports The New York Post.
Should it go forward, the plan is for a limited event series on streaming platform HBO Max rather than HBO which aired the original series that ran for six seasons and 94 episodes from 1998-2004. The show was followed by two feature films in 2008 and 2010.
This marks the third revival of an older HBO series for the SVOD service alongside “In Treatment” and “True Blood” which are coming back with whole new incarnations.
In contrast, ‘Sex’ aims to include all the original stars except Kim Cattrall, who has repeatedly said she is not interested in returning.
