Amazon is reportedly fast-tracking development on a spin-off series based on their popular adaptation of the comic book series “The Boys”.
Amazon says the second season launch of “The Boys” three weeks ago was the most-watched global launch of an Amazon original series ever, with the episodes to date having grown the audience from the first season by 89%. The series has already been renewed for a third season.
The irreverent, R-rated spinoff series is set at America’s only college exclusively for young adult superheroes that is run by Vought International. These hormonal, competitive supes put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, brutally competing for the best contracts in the best cities.
Craig Rosenberg is writing the pilot and will serve as showrunner and executive producer under his overall deal with Sony Pictures Television. Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and James Weaver will also executive produce.
