The creators of Adult Swim’s “Rick and Morty” have debuted a first-look clip from the fifth season of the series, an animatic involving a sequence in which the pair face an extra-dimensional monster, certain death and Rick’s ‘nemesis’.
Creator and executive producer Dan Harmon has confirmed that the writers room and voice cast have finished with the fifth season and are currently at work writing the sixth. The animators meanwhile have been working remotely on the new episodes amid the pandemic.
Harmon also spoke about potential crossovers he’s considered over the years, and says the only one he’s thinking of at present is a “BoJack Horseman” one should the stars align.
The fourth season just wrapped airing in May so it’s not clear when the new season will air, but it certainly will be arriving much faster than the two year gap that was between the third and fourth seasons.
