Lionsgate has released the trailer for “Force of Nature,” a film with a spin on the same setup as in “The Hurricane Heist” a few years ago with this one starring Mel Gibson, Emile Hirsch and Kate Bosworth.
Hirsch stars as a cop who is trying to evacuate an apartment complex in Puerto Rico as a Category 5 hurricane approaches when he runs into Dr. Troy (Bosworth) and her father (Gibson), the latter of whom stubbornly refuses to leave his home despite the raging storm outside.
At the same time, a group of thieves are breaking into the building in pursuit of $55 million that has been hidden somewhere on the property. It’s soon revealed Gibson’s character is a retired detective who is familiar with the bad guys, and won’t let them walk away with the money without a good old-fashioned fight.
Michael Polish helms the project which will be released on VOD and DVD/Blu-ray on June 30th.
