Mindy Kaling and Dan Goor have signed on to write the script for a third “Legally Blonde” film at MGM and Hello Sunshine. The pair will also produce.
Reese Witherspoon will reprise her role as the always hot-pink-clad Elle Woods. Kirsten Smith and Karen McCullah, who penned the original, were working on the script for this back in 2018 but it sounds like the project has gone back to the drawing board.
Witherspoon, Lauren Neustadter, Marc Platt and Adam Siegel will produce. The first film in 2001 grossed a solid $141.8 million worldwide, a sequel two years later fared almost as well financially though was less well regarded critically.
