TV News: Mandalorian, Demimonde, Good, Outcry

The Mandalorian
“Ant-Man” director Peyton Reed has tweeted out a photo indicating he has directed at least one episode of the second season of “The Mandalorian” for the Disney+ streaming service. He joins showrunner Jon Favreau who is expected to have helmed an episode this season along with actor Carl Weathers and returning helmers like Deborah Chow, Rick Famuyiwa and Dave Filoni. Demimonde
Kira Snyder (“The Handmaid’s Tale”), Rand Ravich (“Life”) and Far Shariat (“Crisis”) have been set as showrunners on the J.J. Abrams executive produced HBO sci-fi series “Demimonde”. The project was given a straight-to-series order back in 2018.

The first series Abrams is credited as creator and writer since “Fringe,” the story follows the extraordinary lengths a family will go to in order to find their missing child. Bad Robot will produce. [Source: The Live Feed]

A Good Marriage
Nicole Kidman is attached to executive produce a series adaptation of Kimberly McCreight’s novel “A Good Marriage” which is currently in development at Amazon. David Farr (“Hanna,” “The Night Manager”) is attached to write the adaptation.

The story begins when a woman’s brutal murder in upscale Park Slope, Brooklyn reveals the perilous compromises some couples make – and the secrets they keep – in order to stay together, whatever the cost. [Source: Variety]

Outcry
Showtime has released a first look at five-part docuseries “Outcry” which examines the story of Texas high school football star Greg Kelley, his conviction for child molestation and the journey that followed in the wake of his sentencing. The series set to premiere on July 5th.
