The “Ready or Not” directing team of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, aka. Radio Silence, have reportedly been hired to helm the “Scream” film franchise revival at Spyglass.
The new film, the fifth in the series, follows a woman returning to her home town to try to find out who has been committing a series of vicious crimes. Original series scribe Kevin Williamson is currently attached as executive producer on the project.
The first film in 1996 was the highest-grossing slasher movie of all time until it was finally dethroned by the 2018 “Halloween” revival. Three sequels followed with the second film held in high esteem.
