Vikander Set For Wheatley’s “Freakshift”

He’s been talking about doing the film since breaking out on the scene with “Kill List,” now filmmaker Ben Wheatley looks to be finally getting around to his passion project “Freakshift” and has scored a big star.

Deadline reports that Alicia Vikander will topline the ‘cops versus monsters’ film. Wheatley previously described the film as following a crew of 911 responders who travel around in an armored vehicle and are assigned to handle big monsters that are emerging from the ground.

Wheatley and his collaborator Amy Jump co-wrote the story for the film which plans to begin shooting in August. Vikander is currently shooting the “Tomb Raider” reboot.

Wheatley’s warehouse shootout film “Free Fire” opens in cinemas in April.
