The long in the works “X-Men” spin-off “Gambit” has been through the ringer. While leading man Channing Tatum is holding on, multiple writers and directors have now come and gone from the film with its current status up in the air.
Now, Splash Report claims to have a copy of the recent story outline for the film and says it’s “the Ocean’s Eleven” of the comic book genre – a heist film which starts with an almost 25 year flashback involving the thieves guild and a first meeting with Bella Donna Boudreaux.
Cut to adult Remy Lebeau who has been hired by Nathaniel Essex a.k.a. Mr. Sinister to recover a mysterious trunk that was stolen by the Boudreaux clan. Gambit uses New Orleans’ Mardi Gras celebrations as a cover.
Mutants in the film include Rictor, Fifolet, Dani Moonstar, Multiple Man, Marrow, and a ‘blue X-Men regular’. Gambit also reportedly makes reference to “X-Men: Days of Future Past” and “X-Men: Apocalypse.”
